Basic Blackjack Rules

The purpose of the blackjack player is to accomplish a better hand than the dealers hand. The sum of the cards that creates the players hand must be lower than 21.

The blackjack game starts with the dealer deals an exposed card to each of the players and one unexposed card to himself. The dealer card is called a hole card.

The dealer deals another exposed card. At this point, each player has to decide if he continues to draw cards. When all of the players accomplished their hands, the dealer continues to draw cards to accomplish his hand.

When the sums of the players cards is higher than the dealers cards and lower than 21, he wins. If the dealers hand is higher than 21, the player wins. When the players hand is lower than the dealers hand or over 21, he loses to the dealer. When the players and the dealers hands values are equal, it is a no win no lose situation, called stand off. Even when it is a multiplayer game, the contest is between one player and the dealer.
